Finance Officer

Salary: NJC Scale 6 (FTE £32,925 - £35,031)

Working Days: Full-time, Monday - Friday, 36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. 8.00am - 4.00pm (includes lunch break) at the central team base, Field End Junior School. Home working arrangements during school holidays will be considered. 

Start date: As soon as possible 

Vanguard Learning Trust is keen to recruit a finance officer who will embrace our Trust’s vision and support one of our aims to engender collective responsibility across our Trust. 

Our finance officer will:

  • ensure financial transactions are processed accurately and in line with expected deadlines and adhere to the Trusts finance and procurement policies;
  • assist the Trust’s financial team with reconciliations for month-end, year-end and statutory returns; and
  • assist with the updating of the Trust’s contract management systems to ensure that data records are accurate and up to date.

The successful candidate will be based at our Trust central base, at Field End Junior School, with travel between our schools as required.

Inclusion-lead trustee

Vanguard Learning Trust is looking for an inclusion-lead trustee; this is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is keen to take on a voluntary role and embrace the challenge of supporting the development of a Trust-wide approach to inclusion, in particular a collective focus on professional development, assurance work and sharing best practice. 

We are looking for an individual who will embrace our vision of outstanding, inclusive education and has the knowledge and expertise to lead on governance in relation to the effectiveness of the provision for students that are identified with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and those from a disadvantaged background. We are engendering collective responsibility across the Trust and the inclusion-lead trustee will provide governance oversight for the board of trustees and be instrumental with the establishment of an inclusion forum following the successful implementation of the Trust’s safeguarding one. The Trust’s central education team will take the lead on the arrangements; the inclusion-lead trustee will be expected to chair the forum, providing support and challenge in the governance role of being a ‘critical friend’.
